Before & After
Makeover # 1 – Lanita
As the president and co-founder of the Young Survival Coalition, a 13-year breast cancer survivor, a wife, mother of two young girls, attorney, and entrepreneur, Lanita has played many roles in life which have greatly influenced who she is as a person today.
In a previous life, Lanita was inclined to buy the same shirt in every color of the rainbow. As a role model for younger women, Lanita knew she needed a more polished and up to date look. After her makeover with Savvy Style, Lanita’s lackluster, preppy wardrobe was transformed with sophisticated, appropriate attire. Lanita’s greatest compliment came from a complete stranger on the streets outside of her hotel in New York. The stranger said “Wouldn’t it be nice if every woman dressed as great as you.”

Makeover #2 – Alice
After 32 years as an inner-city high school teacher, Alice wanted to shed her dowdy “teacher look” as she embarked on a new phase of her life. Reading an article in The Kansas City Star about Savvy Style, she immediately contacted Barbara Fishman. During her initial personal appointment, Barbara culled Alice’s overstuffed closet of t-shirts, denim jackets, broomstick skirts and a hodge-podge of other separates. Controlling her naturally curly hair posed a daily challenge. Over-sized glass frames hid one of her best assets, her eyes. She needed an update on skin care and makeup appropriate for her skin tone. Alice embraced all changes directed by Barbara.
Alice now enjoys a simple yet sophisticated wardrobe and accessories, a sleek contemporary hair cut with appropriate color that is easy to manage and maintain, and modern glass frames. She continues to work with Barbara keeping her wardrobe purposeful and coordinated, continues to learn about skin care, and keeps abreast of appropriate make up trends. Change is good. No, make that fantastic!
